and do you think it was OK for a demonstrator against the visit of Condoleezza Rice to Blackburn to hold up a placard saying "Black Bitch"? Just asking.

No I do not think that is acceptable. The organisers should have stopped that, as I find racism disgusting. There is no justificaion for it. Religion, race, gender and sexual orientatiion are not choices unlike religion.
