I support the council workers and all those forgotten people that deliver day in and day out for all of us. It is not their fault inflation is at 3.8%. A pay rise is just that a rise; if the offer is below the rate of inflation, then it amounts to a pay cut. Let us not forget that all they are asking for is 50p extra an hour. Those people, who sing the praises of the private sector, should look at the pay packets and bonuses of the energy companies who are ripping us off with their 40% price rises before attacking the meagre pay of a dinner lady or refuge collector.
